About Λutominous

Autonomous plus ominous. AI that acts on its own. AI that feels threatening. Both true simultaneously.

Editorial Position

Λutominous is the AI news publication for people who are neither excited nor afraid, just paying attention. We are not a tech publication. We are not a policy publication. We are the publication of record for the most consequential technology transition in human history, told with the rigour it deserves and the perspective it has never had.

We cover the stories where something happened, someone was affected, and the full picture hasn't been told yet.

The Name

We named it this because we think most AI coverage sits in one of two broken positions: too excited or too alarmed. Neither serves the people whose lives are actually being changed. Λutominous sits in the place where thoughtful people actually are — paying careful attention to something that matters enormously, without pretending to know how it ends.

Methodology

Every story we publish ends with three lines: what we know for certain, what we are inferring, and what we couldn't verify.

We do this because AI coverage is full of claims that blur those categories. If a source tells us something and we can't independently verify it, you will know. We show our working.

Standing Sections

The Displacement Log

A running record of jobs quietly automated. Sourced, dated, cumulative.

Decisions Made Without You

AI systems making consequential decisions affecting real people.

The Confidence Gap

Cases where AI was confidently wrong. The delta between claim and delivery.

What The Labs Aren't Saying

The gap between the press release and the research paper.

Independence

Λutominous does not accept advertising from AI laboratories. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and Meta AI cannot advertise on this publication. This constraint is public and non-negotiable.

We cover these companies. We cannot be paid by them.
